The problem
The small leaks, and the big one
Most families know where the big money goes: rent, the car. What they do not know is whether the smaller things, the phone, the internet, the groceries, could cost less. It just never feels like enough.
Many families also carry credit card debt, and the interest is one of the heaviest costs of all.
Some families compare every plan and know which store has the better price this week. Most do not have the time. Sophia wanted to put that kind of care into an app for everyone in the community.
Where it stands
Tally is still being built. A browser prototype covers the first two parts below. No family is using it yet. support@cyanworld.comThe plan
Five ways to help
- Phone works in the prototypePhone and internetShow a family a plan that fits better and costs less, and how to switch to it.
- Works in the prototypeCredit card debtShow a lower-interest card to move the balance to, or a cheaper way to pay it off.
- PlannedGroceriesNeighbors who upload a receipt help others see which nearby store is cheaper. Without receipts, this week's store ads show what is on sale.
- PlannedEasy bookkeepingMany families find bookkeeping a chore, and many do not want to connect a bank account. Just say it, for example "Ralphs, groceries, $32.47", and it is recorded.
- PlannedSpending reviewLook at what was recorded and suggest where the family could save.
Tally does not connect to a bank account. It shows information to help a family decide; it is not financial advice.
Who did what
A student's decisions, built with AI
The idea and the product decisions are Sophia's: who it is for, what it should help with, and that it should never overstate a saving. The screens and the code are being built with an AI assistant.
